Looking Up

Making me woozy! Great perspective Laura!

Today was a lot of firsts for me.  A first trying out my new camera (a Nikon D750) a new lens (Nikon 14-24mm), and a first for walking as far as I did on my new knee.  I seemed to do pretty well although I’m on ice now, lol.  The image is of an arch at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.  It was a beautiful day and I had fun trying out my new equipment.

I’m not used to seeing things through a full frame camera, not to mention this kind of a lens.  I was mesmerized by what I saw.  It’ll be fun to try more architecture…….and I mean SOON!

WHAT a DAY for a D-A-Y-D-R-E-A-M

Beautiful!

A cloud-filled sky if perfectly reflected in smooth glass-like water DAYDREAMING

Jo Ann Tomaselli ~ Fine Art Photography

Dense fog rolled over the Intracoastal Waterway and the cloud-filled blue sky and glass-smooth water mirrored each other so perfectly that except for a thin strip of brown marsh, it was difficult to tell where the sky ended and the water began.

This extraordinary mist filled daydream lasted for hours and with familiar boundaries blurred, I felt as if I’d entered an entirely new terrain; as if I’d been lifted beyond this world and settled on another planet.  This mystical-magical ambiance brought to mind esoteric writings of mystics & scientists on the nature of reality and how a split-second moment of in-sight can shift perceptions of time and matter.

Albert Einstein, when talking about the subject of the mystical, had this to say:

“The most beautiful and most profound emotion we can experience is the sensation of the mystical…
To know that what is…

Colored Arrows

A colorful flight of fancy into an abstract realm is what this picture reminds me of. When I first took the photograph I saw arrows for some reason. Two years later I am looking at it and not seeing arrows anymore?

What do you see here in this abstract photograph?

This picture started out as a picture of handblown glass created by Garth Mudge of Glassworks. Glassworks is located downtown Winthrop Wa (Washington State), in the beautiful Methow Valley. The Methow is a small jewel of an area not too far from Seattle in the Pacific Northwest. Okanogan County is such a great place to live for all of the sunshine and outdoors recreation.
It was taken with a Macro lens and is a very small section of the overall object. I am exploring hand blown glass at a macro level in the hopes of creating fine…

Egyptian Queen Abstract Macro Glass Photography by Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.comEgyptian Queen

Luxurious colors abound in this photograph of glass. For some reason it reminds me of a beautiful egyptian queen. Maybe Cleopatra maybe someone else. Confidence gold and jewels all indicate an ancient beauty.

It was taken with a Macro lens and is a very small section of the overall object. I am exploring hand blown glass at a macro level in the hopes of creating fine art from very small pieces of glass.

All of the colors and shapes are created from hot glass. None of these images are created from anything other than hand blown glass objects. I am removing visible specks of dust in Photoshop to present a cleaner look but the overall image is…
