The Eyes Have It!
The Eyes Have It!…………………………………………………………………………. #tigers #Art
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
White tigers are beautiful. The white tiger is a rare pigmentation variant of the Bengal tiger. This creature is a mutant. The human race often finds animal mutations and defects desirable, yet in our own species we do not. We are a drawn to oddities and differentiation in nature, yet shun people who do not share the same genetic make ups as we do. Something to ponder….
In all mammals, I am most drawn to their eyes. As in humans, they tell a story. I had the opportunity to observe and photograph white tigers at Busch Gardens years back. When I create animal art, I like to use a variety of images and then digitally paint new patterns and colors. I am creating art and not just a copy of what is found in nature.
My “Hungry Eyes” has been one of my most popular and best selling prints…

San Josef Bay Teaser
Amazing #photography by Carrie Cole.
I travelled with my family in our own backyard so to speak. We took three weeks to get to know Vancouver Island and I’m now taking the time to blog about this wonderful Island we have the privilege to live on. I’m working on a blog post covering Port Hardy and San Josef Bay in Cape Scott Provincial Park but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peak of one of the prettiest beaches on Vancouver Island!

I Need You TODAY
Beautiful #words and #poetry….
~~Some days begin bad, I wish they don’t end that way~~
I am not always a mess
I am not always so hurt
Today is just one of those days
I badly need you today
Just tell me it’s going to fix
Just hear me when I cry
Just be there when I am at loss
Just… I don’t really know
Today is just one of those days
I badly need you today
I can’t see the colors
I can’t feel the smiles
I feel so hollow
There’s too much sorrow
Some days are night
Sometimes, things don’t feel right
My heart badly hurts
I don’t feel alright
Today is just one of those days
I badly need you today
Let these clouds clear
I want you near
I want someone to hold
I want someone to tell
It’s okay to be scared
It’s okay to cry
I don’t want…

Wisdom Quotes #14…..the Universe sparkles and sings!
Beautiful work!
“The Universe is not quiet and dark, as it seems from observing the night sky. All bodies of the Universe sparkle like diamonds, and shades of their colour give us a clue to the kind of life on them. In the higher spheres colour is united with sound, and this union resounds as the most beautiful music, called the heavenly harmony. Every change in the chords changes the colour and intensity of the shining rays.”

Artists Gone Wild!!
A Rare #Bird indeed!…………………………………….#birds #parrots #parrotart
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
Maybe this post isn’t as tantalizing as “Girls Gone Wild” but us artists do have a tendency to let go sometimes and just create without boundaries. I love painting fish and birds with a tropical flair, but I usually know in advance that I will be painting them. This piece titled “A Rare Bird” is one of those pieces that seemed to paint itself. I just started slinging paint and lo and behold a bird appeared. I love these moments in creativity. I’ve learned to just go with it….It’s a wild ride!

Where Does Love Come From?
Where does #LOVE come from?………………………………#art
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
http://fineartamerica.com/featured/heart-source-energy-art-by-sharon-cummings-sharon-cummings.html
Where does love originate? The heart or the brain? Or is it something that we attract from outside of ourselves? Science tells us that all emotions including love originates in the brain. We feel the passions of love because our brains contain specific neurochemicals and peptides that create those loving feelings in us. There is never a conflict between the heart and the brain but rather between different parts of the brain, parts that specialize in rational thought, such as long-term planning, and parts that give our lives emotional energy. Lends support to the old term “head over heels”. 😉
