Only Good DREAMS…
#dreamcatcher art by Sharon Cummings
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
I’ve always been fascinated with my Native American heritage even though I was not brought up in the traditions of my ancestors. One of the most magical symbols for me has been the dreamcatcher. The idea that it will snare all of the bad dreams and leave me only with the good ones…

Beach L.O.V.E…
Some #beach love! by Sharon Cummings
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
The beach has been heavenly in Florida for the past few weeks. The weather has been perfect…slightly cool and sunny. I’ve spent many hours walking up and down Caspersen in Venice, FL. It is always intriguing how certain things wash up in clusters that do not wash up at other times at all. Somedays it is starfish. Others it might be crab bits. Or these beautiful iridescent fan clams that form hearts when open.
Scientifically they are called Pinnidae and are a taxonomicfamily of large saltwater clams sometimes known as pen shells. They are marinebivalvemolluscs in the orderPterioida.
I just think they are “love”ly…

The Loving T.R.E.E…
The #love tree by Sharon Cummings
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
There is a loving moment in art when the creation is complete. The artist falls in love with the new work, but loses favor as newer pieces are finished. But if you are willing to look back, you can be enchanted once again….

Cool #fossils by Sharon Cummings
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
Here is my haul of fossils that I’ve collected walking up and down the beach for the past 4 months! I also have a glass jar that holds about 3000 shark’s teeth! Below you will find: prehistoric shark’s vertebrae, a camel ankle bone, whale ear bone, turtle shell fossils, three toed horse teeth, shark’s teeth of many kinds, puffer fish mouth plates, stingray barbs, shells and misc. bones. I find these glimpses into the past absolutely fascinating!
A few years ago I had a collector ask me to make a painting for him including some of his fossilized dinosaur bones. It’s got me thinking about what to do with mine…

I Am A Success Because…
How do you define success? #success by Sharon Cummings
Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings
What defines success? It’s a good question. So many see it as money/sales and fame. While I am really happy that my artwork sells, it isn’t the biggest part of how I define my accomplishments. It’s actually quite small…
I thought today would be a good day to remind ourselves of all of the “good” in our lives and what truly makes us a success. It’s a simple little exercise that might take some thought, but surely success can be found in even the smallest of things…
Pick one or more ways you are successful and leave a comment. I would love to hear from you!
I will go first…
I am a success because: in my life, the people around me have always underestimated me. When they said “you can’t do it”, I always did. Whether it was mucking horse stalls in Florida’s Summer heat, defeating cancer naturally 15…
