Patterson Lake Cabins and Mt Gardner

On the East slope of the Cascade Mountain Range is Patterson Lake. In the distance is Mt Gardner showing a light brush of snow coverings its face. This lake is a special reservoir that captures water and slowly lets it feed down into the valley below. In the summer we swim and enjoy many water sports here and in the winter we ski by on way to the Lodge for wine and hot drinks. In the Fall we are treated to the wonderful view of leaves chaning colors and the valley preparing for cold and other adverntures. The Methow Valley is a special place and we are proud to call it our home.

Snakeskin Goddess

There is an intensely creative part of me that sees emotions in color and when I look at this photograph I see so many shades of love and life. Macro photographs of glass are so much fun. I was enthralled for many months using a variety of lights and lenses to capture as much color as I could from many art objects. Glass vases and ornaments and cups and plates and many many more. I spent hours and hours each day painstakingly cataloging each inch of each artwork. The result of all this love is a a series of photographs and galleries full of light and color and various shapes. Taken together they are pretty and so very colorful, and one by one you can really study the subtleties and vibrancy that each contains. Visit my Peacock Vase Gallery to see more

I am grateful every day for the beauty and glory of nature. The wonderful compositions and unbelievable colors surround our daily lives and without color the world would be a very dark place. Spring brings light and fall brings closure. Winter is for resting and summer is for playing. LOL not quite but it sounds really cool. Have a great day

Stubborn and determined are the feeling I get from this image. I see a very strong being pushing their way through life. Not accepting any challenge as overwhelming and tearing through the very fabric of the universe. I see souls and chaos as part of a whole and the entity can be overwhelming at times. How much of life is a struggle and how much of it is beauty and joy. I suppose that each of us finds our balance in our own way and we live our lives the best that we can.

Experience can be painful and it can be beautiful. It is what happens as we journey and along the way are bound to be rough spots. How we allow these to sculpt and mold us is a determining factor in our future. Not all of the things in life that are most beneficial are the easiest and I would venture to say that the ones that come the easiest are not the most enlightening. I enjoy the fact that I can learn and continue to do so every day. Along the way I smile and try to enjoy what is currently in front of me. I love humor and tragedy and the combination of these is a part of existence and happens upon us all. How much we…

Passion for Pinups

PASSION FOR PINUPSSo here is an interesting request that came to me a couple of weeks ago. To be a judge in a pinup art contest. At first I thought that it wouldn’t be something I would be interested in but I do really like the lady that is running this contest, Cindy Nunn, and I really enjoy her work. So I looked at the outline closely and realized that it could be kind of fun. So I agreed to be a judge and I am learning more about this art and having fun in the process. We Do Not Forget…

sharoncummings's avatarAbstract Art by Sharon Cummings

ImageIt is interesting (and tragic) that human minds can remember horrors in such vivid detail….I was at a local Mall doing Senior Mall walks for UCH Hospital….We had not even finished our first lap when someone came by and said a plane had hit a building in NY. I remember thinking it must have been a small plane that got off course somehow and that it was terrible. Then someone else came by at a very fast pace and said that two had gotten hit. I instinctively knew this was no accident. I ran to my car to turn on the radio….as I listened…long before we knew what actually happened…in my gut I knew it was really bad…I just wanted my child (she was in kindergarten at the time)….so I rushed to her school to get her…me and 1000 other parents frantic to find our kids…One of the most poignant…
