Every year we do a road trip from Colorado to Scottsdale Arizona for Thanksgiving. We go to my moms who is getting up there in age and the week is all about spending as much time with her her as possible.   We get on her schedule, so getting up before everyone is up to chase a sunrise worked well with “the the early to rise early to bed” way of life.

It was a family vacations so I only got out a couple times to get some images. Here is just another beautiful Sonoran desert sunrise with giant saguaro cactus in north Phoenix / Scottsdale Arizona.

My “Black Magic” are scheduled to appear in tomorrow’s episode of Criminal Minds (9pm EST).  Look for them in the Beauty Salon scene.  About a month ago, someone from ABC’s art department contacted me for licensing rights to 6 of my “Black Magic” images. I said yes.  Fees were paid, a contract was signed and my episode was revealed.  It’s exciting!

Florida has skunks.  I have never seen one, but I know they exist here.  My childhood memories have some strong evidence to support my claim!  I can remember quite vividly the 3 separate occasions that our dogs “Tager” and “Busch” came home covered in the not so delightful aroma of skunk.  Yes, my Dad named one after the beer. Anyway, they knew they smelled bad when they would wander back up to the house after a day of “hunting”.  No amount of bathing would get rid of the stink.  It took weeks to finally wear off.  They only had each other during that time as no one else wanted anything to do with them.  But today you can enjoy a nice safe distance from this colorful little critter!
