A Little Good News For One Of My Photographs

Priya Ghose's avatarPriya Ghose Photography

I haven’t been blogging lately due to the continued issues with my hands and arms, and have been feeling a bit disheartened about the challenges in creating and promoting my photography and art (as well as struggling to get through the rest of my life). I try to stay positive and look at my situation with humor, but some days I am not as successful at it as I’d like to be. Therefore, it was an extra special kind of awesome to find an email from Crated, notifying me that ‘Ghost Boats In Morro Bay’ has been featured on their homepage. Click here to view a previous blog post about this photograph. I am still trying to keep typing at a minimum for now, but wanted to post this bit of good news. I hope to be back to blogging on a much more regular basis again soon!

Complete Portfolio @ JO ANN TOMASELLI ~ FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

Everyone has it ~ that ideal moment in time we claim as our own, to reflect and give gratitude for the blessings of the day.

For some, it may be the first thing in the morning over a cup of hot coffee. For others, it might be just before falling asleep at night. For me, this moment comes at the end of the day, when the sun leaves our presence to make way for dusk and all the noise in the air and in my head quiets down.

Vacationing in Puerto Rico last winter with my family, our days were filled with various activities but no matter where our daytime moves took us, we would always find a location along the coast to watch the sun go down.

On this particular evening…

There is so much seriousness in art these days, that I sometimes feel a need to “lighten” it up a bit.  I have a very quirky sense of humor and I’d like to think it shows through in my artwork sometimes.  Here is Mystic Moose for your contemplation.  I hope he makes you smile. 🙂

While I still have pieces from my old portfolio to share, I’ve been busy creating new work as well.  I’ve got a few paintings, some patterns and also animals coming soon!  I just wish there was more time in the day…

Father and Son Beach Walk by Jo Ann Tomaselli

JO ANN TOMASELLI ~ FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

Hopefully this week-end you’ll be doing something fun like walking on the beach with a loved one ~ or loved ‘thing’ like your camera!

Sunrise on the beach is a wonderful time to take photographs.

The heat of the day is not yet evident, the blue of the sky is still a promise and as the rising sun breaks the horizon, the sand, the sea and the ocean are painted in hues of yellow gold and brown.

Shooting directly into the sun, the camera exposes for the sky and whatever is in the foreground, in this case a father and his son, are rendered in silhouette.

Enjoy your weekend ~ where-ever you are and what-ever your doing!

Happy Labor Day!

Jo Ann

Artist Statement

I am an artist living in Washington State. My artistic life began at a very young age when I was introduced to oil painting in elementary school. Throughout my life I have explored various other media. I enjoy using oils, acrylics, watercolor, inks, and digital tools. My subjects range from traditional to abstract. As long as I am creating, I’m happy.

I’ve been selling originals and reproductions of my work online for quite a few years. People all over the world have purchased my art and it is wonderful to connect with so many.
