It is My Honor

It would be my honor to sit in this  patriotic park bench decorated with red white and blue, flowers and USA American Flags with a scenic view out onto a fishing lake.  A very special place and great place to sit and get in touch with mother nature,  Longmont Colorado, Golden Ponds, Boulder County. Panorama black and white with selective coloring version.

Have No Fear………………………….. #art #abstractart

TrueColors

Don’t be afraid.  It’s only color.  I have to smile really big whenever I sell one of my bold mega colorful paintings.  It lets me know that someone out there has the assertiveness to go with a piece that yells from the walls, “Look at me!!!”  It is even more satisfying when it is an abstract.  Abstracts make most people uncomfortable.  Some will say that they just do not understand abstract art.  There is good news!  You do not have to.  You just have to like it and have the courage to allow yourself to enjoy it.  I do not understand how an opal is formed, but I know it’s beautiful.  I do not understand how a beetle has such iridescence in it’s shell, but I know it is stunning.  I do not understand how the human eye has all of those amazing patterns, but enjoy looking at them.  A…

In the clear sky of endless blue,

the birds sing that happy tune,

to see the first flowers bloom,

in the familiar warmth of spring.

The Blue Hour

The Blue Hour

The blue hour, Jackson Lake, Jackson Lake State Park, Morgan County, Colorado. The blue hour, one hour of time after sunset and before sunrise, a great time of day for photo taking. It is fun to keep in touch of daily sunrise/ sunsets and moon phase and rise and fall.  This is during May No Moon.

This is my very first Labor of Love piece that I painted nearly 10 years ago. It’s quite popular as a print, but what most people do not realize is that this is only 1/3 of the painting.  Because the camera I had at the time would only make a small print of the entire piece, I photographed it in sections.  I now offer them as separate prints:  Abstract 1, 2 and 3.

These works are indeed a labor of love for me and I pant them sparingly now by commission only.  The sad truth is I can make a lot more for my time creating simple abstracts that take minutes to finish.  These take many days and weeks to have a final work of art. It is one example of hard work not paying off.  Unless you can sell prints…

I am delighted that the many hours spent making…
