Sometimes you just gotta get fresh!  I have been promoting past works heavily lately for the Holiday season and I have been painting custom work based on much older pieces.  I love working with all of my creations, but sometimes I really need to create something new.  After avoiding yellow for many years due to emotional reasons, I have found that it is showing up a lot lately.  Something really bad happened to me that I used to associate with the color, so it is refreshing to see my soul embracing this light and life giving hue.  Today I offer you some fresh lemons….I can almost smell them….

Unequivocal Truths Abstract Symbols Artwork

In the very center of my soul lies an innocent space that radiates good intentions and values the essence of us all. Everything is revealed when I look inside with an open heart to this place where my inside mirrors my outside and vice versa. Everything is in balance and I can merely live. I enjoy all of these colors of virtue and vibrance, the entire rainbow of them. Nothing is separate because I am merely a fine thread in the tapestry of life. Weaving my way through each day in search of the ultimate pattern to complete. Nothing I do will ever stand out on its own due to the fact that I can only become the best version of myself if I have a comparison to stand against. This very dichotomy makes me invisible in my own right. So I love the companionship and…

Nutella = Photography?

Yeah, okay… it sounds like a reach, putting a dessert spread in the same category as photography.  I know.  But bear with me.  There’s a point to this.

My wife and I kept hearing all the time about this Nutella spread.  People rave about it (all over the place) and it seems like it’s the biggest thing since sliced bread (I can hear the shouting now – “Sliced bread covered with NUTELLA!”).

See what I mean?

So we finally decided to see what the fuss was really all about.  As a background, we’re not huge on being trendy or hip just for the sake of trendy or hip.  We never owned a pet rock (just Google that, it’s hard to explain how that happened) and we don’t stand in line for the new release of ANYTHING.  I mean… if something is popular and good, they’ll make more.  Why camp…

Commitment and Love

What a wild and crazy abstract art piece this is. All sorts of intense colors and vibrant shades. Nothing really in control and yet very peaceful at the same time. My artwork today is reflecting my ideas on Love and Commitment. Very similar to me and such an exciting experience 🙂 I am using symbols and colors to represent a story. I am really intrigued by the emotions I experience when I look deeply into the eyes of my painting. I can see it all here and yet reflected in it all is nothing at all. A paradox inside of a contained space. Much like relationships there is really no answer because the solution lies inside of the journey……. Namaste 🙂

Horseshoe Over A Doorway Will Catch Good Luck

BoulderCountyPhotographer's avatarStriking Photography by Bo

Rustic Old Colorado Barn Door and Window

This really got my attention the first time I saw it.  This rustic classic  door and window with a horse shoe above each is on a western old barn in a mining town, my guess from the late 1800’s. It’s located behind a friends saloon in the middle of the Colorado Rocky mountains about an hour south of the Buena Vista Colorado area.

It is believed if a horseshoe is hung over a doorway, with ends up will catch good luck and ends down will let the good luck spill over the door and stop evil from entering.

A Quiet spot

quiet spot in woodsFriends, this quiet spot in the woods is like a dream for me, this image is an HDR and maybe a bit dramatic, but i like all the colors.  Something to look at in the drab months ahead, when i will have to make my own light and action.  Today is the eve of deer hunting and the deer will be hiding out for a few weeks to escape the hunters, not my favorite time of year.  Orange is the color this week. til Tomorrow MJ
