I got a little note from the Universe today which read, “You simply cannot know, Sharon What will make others happy.  But you can always know for yourself.  Go for it….The Universe”  That’s my reminder.  I have been working really hard painting custom work for others and creating pieces for my show that I’ve neglected what makes me happiest.  Like the picture above, I need some time for myself walking along my own creative beach.  There is such a freedom in just letting the energy from your soul release itself onto whatever canvas you choose.  So I am off to do just that today. 🙂

I really love symbols and shapes and colors, and with my new Abstract Series I am exploring the idea of digital art created with different symbols and backgrounds. My artwork today is centered around love and light. I believe that love can be expressed across many colors, and not just pink and red. It is a very vibrant emotion and enjoys all sorts of drama and emotion. This particular heart is seeking to find knowledge. Not just romance but intensely deep feeling and affection. This picture shows tears and movement representing what is contained within a relationship that is long and arduous. Ultimately satisfying and infinitely complex at the same time. As I am working away here getting ready for my upcoming art show and completing custom work for the Holidays, I find I have a good problem.  I had 5 original paintings on canvas that were going to be showcased in the show, but they have all sold!  So I am working even harder to create more work.  I will not list these new pieces because I actually need some originals on my display panels. 🙂  I have been moved by the support I am receiving lately.  I have collectors who say they will drive upwards of 6 hours to come to see me and that they have been waiting for me to have a show.  One person is driving across state and another is coming from Georgia.  If my people are going to come that far….I’d better make sure I have some real nice paintings to…

Music is Magical Abstract Healing Art

Music has an intense effect on my mood whenever I listen to it. When my ears tune in my soul takes notice. The gentle waves of sound are enough to engage my senses and lighten my heart. Memories and emotions are tied into the experience and joy follows closely behind. To me it is magic the way that something we can’t see can have such an impact on us. For my art offering today, and as a contrast to the auditory experience, I decided to create with the idea of music in mind. This year is a year of “firsts” for me.  My first art show is coming up!  But I also received my first royalty check from posterservice.com .  They gave me a really nice advance for two of my guitars, so I wasn’t certain that I would ever see more.  But people really like my instruments and stores have been buying them……so a surprise check showed up in the mail. 🙂  I am currently working with another company who contacted me after they saw my work on Fine Art America. They are marketing me to some really big names and I am so excited about moving in this direction.  All of the really grueling hard work of 10 years is paying off and I couldn’t be happier. It’s been suggested in various groups that I might be an alien.  Why?  Other artists see how much work I produce and how much I market myself.  They wonder how I can do so much and be human.  I’ve addressed this in other posts, but it all boils down to focus for me.  Some experts might even call it OCD. 😉  I will say that as I am ageing that my focus has gotten a little blurry sometimes and I do forget to do things on occasion.  I also get tired.  But this time of year I am hyped on the excitement of the season.  I absolutely thrive on painting gifts for people to share with the one’s they love.  The thought of the joy my work will bring is out of this world!  And getting ready for my first show has me smiling at the speed of light…
