In Florida that is. 🙂 We’ve got another few weeks before the water is too cold to swim in comfortably and another few months before the wind and cold will make walking on it only for the die hards (yeah that would be me, but not my husband). So I am off!

This was a short lived storm that passed by quickly. I normally do not shoot with power lines but I wanted to try and make this shot a little more interesting by getting the neon lights of passing cars and power lines in the shot. This series might very well be the last new lightning images for the season. This is my 27th year chasing lightning. May or may not stop at 30 🙂

Where Do You Go?
Where do you go when you are not working? Do you retreat to a spare bedroom to mediate? Do you hang out with friends over a few drinks? Do you get away for the weekend to the mountains? Do you head for the ocean? Or are you like I used to be for the past 12 years, do you mostly work and not get away enough to make a noticeable difference?
I made a decision about 6 months ago that my health and spiritual being were more important than my work. I am not my art. My art is just a small part of who I am. So I now take long weekends and I commune with nature. Same dog, different day. What a difference a haircut makes. These were all commissioned at separate times after variable groomings. Now the caregiver of “Regis” will make a triptych to hang over his sofa. So cute! I love custom dog portraits. Out of all of the work I do, I believe these bring the most joy to my collectors. 🙂
