Playing With Bubbles

Playing a colorful game of hide and seek. Letting layers come through as they are joyfully imagined. Orange to green to blue to red to purple and beyond. All a spectrum of light and creation designed for your visual bliss.

With a bright explosion of energy and delight, I bring you a picture for the day. An offering of happiness promoting joy and belief in a better world.

Bubbles emerging from my canvas with glee. Bursting onto the scene from a dimension far away. Small spirits containing answers not yet seen. Look carefully for the personality hidden deep in the way that the colors move.

Lightning striking the Dacona oil fields in Colorado.  Three lightning bolts from this fast moving thunderstorm striking down next to an oil well pump jack.  9-19-2014  8:89 pm –  ISO 200- 30 sec – f8 – 75mm.  This is one of the last images of the my 27th season chasing lightning thunderstorms and may be my last.   Time will tell.  Now I can finally enjoy my nights without going crazy every time the weather kicks up.

I decided to give my 25 year old turtle drawing some real color.  There is nothing wrong with trying to mimic nature in art, but I always find it a little boring.  There is no cure for this color junkie. 😉  While I will use the following:  graciously donated photos, public domain work or vintage images from time to time, I much prefer to work with my own photography and graphics.  This little guy posed a real challenge to recreate him in my new “Color Fusion” series, but I think he can swim away now into the colorful sea!

I really couldn’t resist naming this guy “Parrot Head”.  After all it is both, literally and figuratively.  And I do live in paradise close to margaritaville.  I’ve got tropical shirts and a hammock.  I just need to turn on some Jimmy Buffet tunes and I can convince myself that it is 5 o’ clock somewhere. 😉
