Jeremiah La Plante, photographer
“Photography is a side hobby of mine that also doubles as a secret passion.”
Jeremiah La Plante, photographer
Quite recently and by happenstance I found Jeremiah on the expansive terrain of wordpress. I immediately was drawn into his world. I search for some way to verbalize what I feel when I look through his photographs. I know these places he photographs as I live near them. He takes the commonplace and finds a transcendental essence. Something akin to the french term “sui generis” – an exception to the rule, another reality. When you visit Jeremiah’s google site (link follows) you will find a beautifully written article on the French photographer Eugene Atget. Reading about this remarkable photographer, working in the 1890’s. will give you further insight to Jeremiah’s sensibilities. Art Featured Again!
I wrote this blog post about one of my photographs being featured on the homepage of Crated…and it happened again today! I woke up to the notification email from Crated saying my one and only painting (thus far) on Crated is now featured on the homepage! Wild!
I am still trying to minimize my typing and heal my hands/arms, but will link to the history behind my paintings, here and here which contain better explanations as to why this acknowledgment is especially appreciated.

A Little Good News For One Of My Photographs
I haven’t been blogging lately due to the continued issues with my hands and arms, and have been feeling a bit disheartened about the challenges in creating and promoting my photography and art (as well as struggling to get through the rest of my life). I try to stay positive and look at my situation with humor, but some days I am not as successful at it as I’d like to be. Therefore, it was an extra special kind of awesome to find an email from Crated, notifying me that ‘Ghost Boats In Morro Bay’ has been featured on their homepage. Click here to view a previous blog post about this photograph. I am still trying to keep typing at a minimum for now, but wanted to post this bit of good news. I hope to be back to blogging on a much more regular basis again soon!

Everyone has it ~ that ideal moment in time we claim as our own, to reflect and give gratitude for the blessings of the day.
For some, it may be the first thing in the morning over a cup of hot coffee. For others, it might be just before falling asleep at night. For me, this moment comes at the end of the day, when the sun leaves our presence to make way for dusk and all the noise in the air and in my head quiets down.
Vacationing in Puerto Rico last winter with my family, our days were filled with various activities but no matter where our daytime moves took us, we would always find a location along the coast to watch the sun go down.
On this particular evening…
