The nice thing about moving to a new house in winter is having very little idea of what to expect in the garden in spring. Our garden has been producing lots of lovely surprises and the latest one is one of my favourites – a peony bud! The two buds on display at the moment are somewhat small but I am very excited to see the colour of the bloom. There are several other lovely blooms to behold, the roses continue to enchant with a yellow variety and the lemon tree is now in blossom.

Today I am pondering paradise. What would it feel like to live there. Would everything be perfect by definition or would there be imperfections just as in all other areas of life? My artwork today was created by letting my creative imagination wander to a soothing space filled with color and light. Not too harsh and not too soft. Plenty of variation and lots of beauty.
What is your idea of paradise and does it look anything like this 🙂

“How Deep Is Your Love”
“The Roots Of Love Run Deep” is by far one of my most popular paintings. I am not certain if it is the design…the colors or the title that attracts people from all over the world. I have shipped prints to Japan….Australia….even small Greek islands. Love truly is the Universal language…I am glad that I speak it.

Aphrodite never looked so beautiful as in this painting 🙂

I am certainly no Aphrodite, but my first love is music too. A lot of my art reflects my natural rhythmic thinking. Patterns that move and flow. I grew up with the sounds of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Later when my family moved to the country I was introduced to the sounds of Marty Robbins and Charlie Rich. I love all music….classic rock….country….classical…50’s….60’s….70’s…80’s….contemporary pop and even some rap. When I am painting, I am always listening to music. Sometimes I dance around with the paint brushes. At other times I am sitting still…concentrating. It is in these times of stillness that I prefer simple music…an acoustic guitar….a piano…solo. Perhaps a solo guitar or just the sound of piano is to music what abstract is to art.

Merging Fantasies Abstract Pattern ArtworkNow that I am officially unemployed I am spending hours each day fantasizing about what it is I am going to do with my life. LOL. Not quite 🙂 Life is definitely different and I am still working through the reality of not having a steady job after 20+ years in the professional arena. My dream is to be an artist full time and support myself and my family with my creative work. At this moment I am not sure if it will work out or not but I am giving myself a chance to dream a new dream and follow my hearts calling. Namaste 🙂
