Masking Reality Abstract Shapes ArtworkMasking Reality

How often do I put on a pretty face to the world when I feel dark inside. My artwork today is painting this picture. I am all too often guilty of hiding my true feelings in order to get along with the “world” trying to be someone or something that I think others expect me to be. I have reached a point in my life where I am attempting to create a new reality and a new persona for myself. The irony for me as I explore this idea is that I know deep down inside what that will look like but my surrounding environment will not allow this being to survive. So I am in the process of changing my environment to fit a new self.

I have never been an artist to the world before. I have hidden my creativity within a business environment and denied…

I’ve never been able to identify with people who say “I don’t like animals.”  I know they have their reasons, but I cannot imagine my world without them.  I grew up for part of my childhood on a farm and I befriended all sorts of critters. Goats and pigs were a favorite.  But ultimately my most beloved are dogs. Aside from their loyal and loving companionship, they are just gosh darn cute! I’ve always especially loved their paws.  There is something about them that gives me warm fuzzies.  Recently while making homemade dog treats, I saw paws in the sweet potatoes I was cutting.  Here is my dog paw.  A canine you can eat!

Of course I have other paws too….

Deities Abstract Digital Artwork Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.com Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.comDeities Abstract Digital Artwork

When I created this picture I was attempting to see inside of myself and bring forth hidden knowledge. I imagined doors opening into my subconscious and revealing to me what I was searching for. I am sensing a higher power that comes through me and that I step into as I wander through my imagination. So much of what I experience in a a day is a mixture of what I think and what I see. Then there is this whole other level where I feel like a puppet on a string. I am not sure where I start and where I end and I suspect that it is an illusion anyway.

My eyes can see and my ears can hear. My heart also sees and hears many things that my physical senses cannot even begin to comprehend. Within all of this mystery and uncertainty lies…

More from my few days in Old Manila.  This adventure ended with the mother of all missed connections.  I arrived in Guam two hours late only to find  the once a day connection to Honolulu had left.  United found room on a flight to Tokyo connecting to a direct flight to Houston.  I wasn’t expecting to go to Japan that day, and arrived home only 6 hours late.

Her Heart Has Wings

Her heart has wings,

for more than flight.

They give her strength.

They give her sight.

Her heart has wings,

battered by the wind.

They do not break.

They help her bend.

Her heart has wings,

that can’t be tied.

And hopes and dreams.

That won’t be denied.

Her heart has wings,

for so much more.

Her body has limits.

But her spirit will soar…

I get asked that question often.  A lot of people I know love to travel.  My In-Laws just got back from Africa recently.  A good friend had an adventure in Cuba last month. My husband lived in Indonesia for a few years.  And the list goes on.  I like the “idea” of traveling more than the actual experience. I love to “see” the world and wish there was a way to beam myself to various locals just long enough to take it in.  Bypassing the long flights, nasty airports, restrooms….sleeping in strange place.  Odd food.  I am not exactly a homebody though.  I’ve been to a few places as far away as Hawaii which is pretty far considering I live in Florida.  And I have been to many cities all over the United States, but I have never been to another country.  I’ve got plans…..  I know it…
