white rose jpeg-002 (2)God creatied gardens of many sorts, He created the garden for roses

Roses he decided would be the queen of the garden.

He knew that his beautiful roses of so many different colors

would become the symbol of love.

Roses of different colors all mean something.

Purple Lupine in an Abstract Garden Artwork Omaste Witkowski owfotografik.com

Come visit my abstract garden yet again for another visual treat. Lupine are abundant in this space and each one blooms for a a week or so as it slowly opens its blooms to the spring sunshine. Each small part of the flower is on a quest to find light and nourishment as it grows and enjoys the space that it flourishes in. I love to capture this energy and beauty as the garden wakes. No two flowers are ever exactly the same to me and as I paint them I am sure to add small touches that enhance this quality. The colors are varied and vibrant and the shapes beg to be explored. I am enjoying the blues sprinting to purple and the white that is content just being itself. This particular flower has time to enjoy the garden and bloom for a while longer.

Painting is a blind man’s profession. He paints not what he sees, but what he feels, what he tells himself about what he has seen. ~Pablo Picasso

Sunflowers on Psychadelics

I love flowers. I enjoy the bright colors and random beauty. I see them and I smile. I stop to smell them and I am transported. All light and beauty and again, color. An abstract flower is a version of what I have seen and what I want to create. Normal and ordinary is a difficult concept for me. I enjoy making things unique to where people want to look more closely at what I have done. To look for the hidden compositions inside of the obvious one.

My goal is to have every picture tell a story. Not just what you see but what you see makes you think about. I enjoy creating art and then I love to just look at it. Funny I am sure but I derive pleasure from soaking in the colors. I am not always sure what I am creating in…

Political Debate

A very intriguing piece by a very interesting person. Well done Sharon 🙂

My parents always taught me to never talk politics or religion in mixed company.  And I have found this to be sage advice as I lost some Facebook friends during the last political election.  This piece is up for interpretation.  Is it the face of good and evil?  Is it one face depicting the duality of the two faced politician?  Where did I get the idea?  Honestly, I have no clue.  Often artwork just forms in my hands as I look at or manipulate an image, paint or structure.  The end result is as much a surprise to me as it would be to anyone else.  We have always had a fascination with Abraham Lincoln as a country.  Good ol “Honest Abe”.  So I will not talk politics….I will let you do that. 🙂

The many faces of Abe:

A Quiet Place Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.com

A Quiet Place

I really enjoy parks and recreation and everywhere I go I look for the quiet place to enjoy the peace that nature offers up daily. This spot is a really cool example of a quiet place to sit for a minute and contemplate life. It is also an attractive lunch option if you bring a picnic. Many moments have been spent by the banks of the Methow River and summer days are enjoyed as the shade of the trees and the structure provide a respite from the afternoon heat and sunshine. The local swimming pool is not far away and the cleansing waters of the river tinkle softly as it flows by. Taking a break from my day I capture a moment in time that I can savor and remember.

Our local parks are a gift to all of us. We can gather there in groups or…

A Fish Tale…

My “Tropical Fish” is my BEST seller on Fine Art America and my other sites.  But he wasn’t my idea.  Many years ago I got a call from a woman in St. Thomas who was in desperate need for artwork. Her home had been destroyed by Hurricane Ivan and while they had rebuilt, they had no artwork for the walls. Living on a small island left her with no choices for huge abstract paintings.Debbie found me online and fell in love with my style and color choices. She needed 27 over sized paintings for a June wedding that would be held on her property. Her home would be filled with guests and she needed big bold splashes of color. The clincher is that she called me in April…and needed 27 paintings by June! Never one to back away from a challenge, I accepted her order and got to work! I…

Beavers in Love. Painted into an amorous world and bonded into eternity along a riverbank.

Will You Be My Beaver Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.com

Will You Be My Beaver

These two fantasy creatures ooze affection for one another. They are gazing lovingly and touching softly. Over time the bright color of their bodies fades but the affection remains. Painted clay and hardened cement provide a solid background for them to live happily together as long as the elements support them. Over time as these images fade from view along the trail, they will live forever in the painted reality I created for them. Visit my beavers and feel the love as you enjoy the colors and circular motions. Or better yet visit the Methow Valley and see them for yourself.

I love to wander on trails with my camera and look for interesting images to bring home with me. This particular painting is based on an image that I encountered near the Foster Tawkes Suspension Bridge in Mazama. Along the MVSTA community trail is…

Flaming Waters Omaste Witkowski owFotoGrafik.com

Flaming Waters

If I could set fire to a water fountain I imagine it would look like this….Flaming waters and a wild imagination brought this abstract painting to life. All of the heat and the curling flames are captured and absorbed into the digital realm that they are born into. A golden tapestry of heat and beauty.

Life is contained here and destruction is also present. One brings about the other in a frenzied fight for existence. Food is cooked and bodies are warmed by the same process that wood and other materials are consumed by. It is an interesting fact that one cannot exist without the other.

Have you ever looked deep into flames and wondered if they are actually alive? I often sit and gaze into our fireplace in the winter and imagine that I see all sorts of stories playing out. The fire itself seems living to…
