“I won’t stop pushing myself to get better at what I love.”

Alick Boyer is from Lincolnshire UK.  His photographic vision is nostalgic, yet contemporary.  With his growing body of work, I feel a timeless quality.  But I also feel his presence in every shot of a very personal and richly colored world. – Douglas

Thank you for stopping by my photography feature on from1artist2another, though I won’t jabber on too much or to long about myself I’ll give you the run down. Newest Paintings and Work In Progress

I am loving this color palette Laura!

lauracarteroriginals's avatarLaura Carter Art

My two newest paintings have just been listed on the site Ugallery. One is a landscape painting with some texture the other is a limited color palette figure painting. I enjoyed painting the figure one the most. I wasn’t sure where it was going with it at first but found myself loving the bright yellow (a colour that is not often one I choose). I had intended to paint something multi coloured that day but the yellow appealed to me so much I stuck with it. I titled this one “Hope and Flowers” and it is available here

Yesterday I started another figure painting and fell in love with the white background and chalky look of it. I’m still playing around with this one but have pretty much decided to leave the white intact, I find it has a very feminine and airy look to it. I’m almost certain…

Deadliest Catch or Fish on a Stick? by Jo Ann Tomaselli

Complete Portfolio @ JO ANN TOMASELLI ~ FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY

Catching itty-bitty catfish by net may not be as dangerous or exciting as the antics of the crew in the hit TV show ‘Deadliest Catch’ but in a small Cambodian river village on the Mekong Delta, catching fish consumes a major part of the daily work day.

By sunrise the village women and the men are floating small wooden boats down the river and, carrying large nets attached to poles, they drag the net through the water to scoop up the fish and dump them into the hull of the boat. On a good day, the boat is near sinking from the weight of the catch.

At home in the village, those too old to fish are building fires & youngsters are whittling skewers. The women have…

Moon of love shining so bright

you’re a magical, mystical, wondrous sight!

You know how I always say that I can’t photograph the moon to save my life, but that I just can’t give up trying to anyway because I love the moon so much?  Well, during the last full moon I gave it yet another try, I just couldn’t resist, it was looking so amazing, and the way the clouds were drifting past its lovely face all mysterious-like really added to its allure.

Well, of course… it was another fail.  Without the correct type of camera (not to mention a tripod for steadiness), I guess I expected that, but I can’t truly be disappointed about this particular one “not turning out,” because I’m just tickled how in its discombobulation it ended up making a heart shape!  ❤

Even though I can’t…
